1. This call to the bullpen…

Since 1997, when the bullpen telephone at Yankee Stadium — old and new — has rung heading into the ninth inning, it’s nearly always been for one man:  Mariano Rivera.  Probably the most dominant and famed closer in baseball history, Rivera was summoned hundreds of times on that phone, with his entrance song “Enter Sandman” ensuing.

Now, collectors can bid on this unique piece of stadium memorabilia, signed by Mariano Rivera with his autograph above the phrase “Enter Sandman.”  The phone is one of the highlight items of Steiner Sports’ “catalogue auction,” held Nov. 17 and 18.

The auction, with items starting as low as $9.99, also includes items from old Giants Stadium as well as other memorabilia.

And, if there’s a little extra room in the backyard or oversized rec room, Steiner Sports Collectibles will also feature consecutive seats from the old Yankee Stadium – numbered 1 through 16 – available to a single bidder.  The iconic seatbacks will be the only complete set in existence.

“These historic chairs are sure to entice serious collectors,” said Stephen Costello, Steiner executive vice president overseeing the project. “The numerical chairs highlight over 250 items up for bid in Legends Auction 4.”
